The Garden After the First Rain (Wednesday Vignettes)

I found these pictures on my phone today, and even though they are now a bit old (from Nov 2018), I really wanted to share them here. This was the first (significant) rain we'd had since 2017, and the combination of clouds and time of day made the light look very strange...

the stock pond filled up

everything looked almost pink (this picture has no filters!)

clouds!

clouds, wet DG and all the happy plants

So far (Feb) this winter has been wetter than the last few, which has been great. The light has never been quite like this again though!

    1. It only did it that one time that i saw. I'm also very glad we're having a wetter winter, although i'm sure you're over having snow up there by now!

  2. The gold light in the sky in that last picture, with the evergreen spikes poking up, is wonderful.

    1. Thank you Alison! It's easy to take nice pictures when the light looks that good...

  3. Beautiful! You caught the light at just the right moments. We just passed the 13 inch mark for the total rain year to date (since October 1st). Overall, it's been great, although I've found a few small succulents that have turned to mush.

    1. there are minus points to all the rain... i've had to move some cacti inside so they don't float away. But i'm sure it will all be gone soon enough...

    1. Thank you! And yes, 'Tooth Fairy' is very pretty. One of my favorite mangaves, i think.
