this agave does not care much about heat... |
I love the banding on the big furcraea in the front garden. |
the opuntia is happily basking in our heat. |
my a. ovatifolia in actual shade from my palo verde tree. |
my new plant lust - xMangave (here is 'Tooth Fairy') has lots of colors |
a. 'Cream Spike' seems to mind the heat the least of all my variegated agaves |
a. 'Royal Spine' (or 'Little Shark') is happy in the summer. |
yucca rostrata lets the sun flow through its hair (um, leaves) |
a. shawii looks like flames coming out of it's tube. |
centaurea gymnocarpa (here with seed heads) adds big pools of silver to the hill side |
eucalyptus macrocarpa may never make blooms, but the silver foliage looks great over the warmer rocks |
You have a great-looking collection of agaves, Renee! I love that mangave too. I'm impressed by just how many new (to me) mangaves have come to market of late.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love all the new mangaves - it seemed like there were so many this year...
DeleteIt's great to see all your heat-thriving agaves and other plants. Our plants need to be super tough to get through our summers, don't they? That they can be sexy too is a bonus! Pam/Digging: penick.net
ReplyDeleteTough and sexy... No wonder agaves are so great! Thanks for visiting! Your garden continues to be such an inspiration!
DeleteSome real beauties!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBeautiful Agaves. They look great even in your desert climate. You don't think E. macrocarpa will bloom? They are pretty tough plants.
ReplyDeleteMaybe eventually? This winter, all the growing tips froze. I think that's where the buds were supposed to be? But maybe I'm wrong and I'll get those gorgeous red flowers... Now you have me hoping! Thank you!
DeleteExcellent summer interest: spikes or softer plants.
ReplyDeleteThank you! No constructive criticism? You have such great inputs when I read your blog...
DeleteYour Agave and cacti are wonderful. I love the interesting variegation of the 'Cream Spike' Agave.
ReplyDeleteThank you! 'Cream Spike' is one of my favorites... Just waiting for pups...
