Orange for the first time! |
The yellow and blue sky! |
The pine trees are really growing now |
So glad I didn't pull this "weed"! |
... the Palo Verde still needs trimming, but it looks too good right now. |
Even if it's mulching everything in yellow |
Always a standout flower |
Glowing yellow mulch, blue sky, cactus flowers, volunteer Calliandra--beautiful, and indeed inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh yes, cactus flowers are very inspiring -- something so big and beautiful coming from a prickly cactus pad. And a volunteer Calliandra -- one shrub I wish I could grow here.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better Allison - i've killed this plant twice, and i thought this was a Albizia julibrissin seedling before it bloomed... Maybe it would grow in your greenhouse?
DeleteThere's nothing wrong with yellow mulch! You're garden looks good, Renee - and very, very happy.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It makes me very happy also :)
DeleteNo time like the present to start a post, especially with that Palo Verde in bloom!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love that yellow!
DeleteThings are looking quite fabulous, and I’m jealous of your orange Opuntia flower. My first one this year, a new plant, bloomed pink. Ugh.
ReplyDeletehahaha, i have one that's so neon pink, my phone can't take pictures of it. Maybe when the orange one gets bigger, i'll send you a pad?
DeleteHello! My first time visiting your blog. I am indeed inspired by all your inspritations! The palo verdes alone--so pretty. And the orange Opuntias, gorgeous. The lotus flowers of the desert.
ReplyDeleteHello Alyse, welcome! I had not heard "lotus flower of the desert" before, but what a great description!
DeleteWhat the above all said! And - which species is the orange-flowered Opuntia you have?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it's opuntia littoralis var austrocalifornica, because of the orange color. This is the first time it bloomed (and my first orange one ever!)
